Over the past 14 years C&C Hydraulics Ltd has established itself as a major supplier of hydraulic cylinders into the UK market. This has been achieved with the support of Chapel SA (France) who with over 40 years experience are one of the leading cylinder manufacturers in Europe. As part of the continuing development of the company C&C Hydraulics are now producing special cylinders in house to support the growing demand for the product. This will enable us to produce small quantities of specially designed cylinders very quickly alongside medium quantities for small OEMs. The cylinder production unit is housed in our new 8,000 sq/ft building and the company has invested in both CNC machinery and Semi Automatic welding equipment ensuring the quality of production is maintained. Key components such as glands, pistons and seals are still being supplied by Chapel to keep production costs low.
The current manufacturing facility has been designed to enable the production of cylinders based around Chapel's standard bore and rod sizes. These range from 32mm up to 120mm bore tube and from 20mm up to 70mm diameter rods. The maximum stroke is up to 4500mm. Depending upon the application we can offer special rods and various mounting and bush options along with higher performance seals. From the initial enquiry we offer advice on the options available to ensure our customers requirements are met. Once the customers specification has been agreed we supply a drawing for approval, this verifies dimensionally that everything is correct prior to production taking place.The tube and rods are then machined on a CNC Lathe in preparation for welding and final assembly.
The components (as shown below) are welded to the tubes and rods using our high performance water cooled welding plant and rotary welding positioner.The sub assemblies are then thoroughly cleaned and prepared for assembly. Once assembled the cylinders are then tested and labelled with their unique identification number. The week and year of manufacture allows complete traceability of the product.
To compliment our stock of over 2000 finished cylinders and our new production facilities C&C Hydraulics can also offer a large range of cylinder components for customers who wish to produce their own cylinders. We can offer a number of options to help with the production of special cylinders:-
- The complete kit: We will supply both the rod and tube finish machined and ready for welding and assembly along with the mountings, piston, gland and seal kit and ports.
- The partial kit: We will supply all the components with the exception of the tube and rod.
- Individual components: We can supply any part as an individual component from a gland to a bearing.
